HQ Guild HQ

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

The short version. Guild HQ has no accounts and no login. It does not ask you for any personal information, and we do not run any server that collects or stores data about you. The app shows public World of Warcraft data (characters, raids, Mythic+) pulled from public game APIs.

The one exception is advertising: the app shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google's ad SDK collects certain device information to serve and measure those ads. That is described in full below.

1. Who we are

Guild HQ ("the app", "we", "us") is a companion app for World of Warcraft guilds and players. This policy explains what information is involved when you use the app, and your choices about it. It applies to the Guild HQ iOS and Android apps and the website at guild-hq.com.

2. Information you give us

None directly. The app has no sign-up, no login, and no profile. When you search for a guild or character, the name you enter is used only to request public data from the game APIs listed below, and your selection is saved locally on your own device (so the app remembers your character next time). It is not transmitted to us or stored on any server we control.

3. Information collected automatically (advertising)

The app displays ads using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect:

This collection is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's advertising policies and Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive your advertising identifier or location.

4. Tracking & your consent

On iOS, before any tracking identifier is used for personalised advertising, the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," your advertising identifier is not used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (iOS) or Settings → Google → Ads (Android).

Where required (e.g. in the UK/EEA), the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request your consent for personalised ads. You can decline personalised ads and still use the app; you'll simply see non-personalised ads instead.

5. Third-party services

The app retrieves public World of Warcraft data from these services. We don't send them any personal information about you — only the public character/guild names needed to look up game data.

Game data requests are routed through a caching proxy we operate (a Cloudflare Worker) purely to reduce load on those APIs. The proxy caches public game data only; it does not log or store information that identifies you.

6. Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR)

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, our legal bases are: consent for personalised advertising (which you can withdraw at any time as described above), and legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the app for the limited diagnostic data involved.

7. Data retention

We do not maintain a user database, so there is nothing about you for us to retain or delete. Your in-app character selection lives only on your device and is removed when you clear it or uninstall the app. Data collected by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's own policies.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. UK/EEA under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal data, and to opt out of personalised advertising. Because we don't hold personal data about you, the most direct controls are:

If you have any questions or requests, contact us using the details below.

9. Children

Guild HQ is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security & international transfers

We use reputable providers (Google, Cloudflare, Apple) that apply industry-standard security. Because these providers operate globally, data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, under the safeguards those providers maintain.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
